What is a Shofar?
A Shofar is a trumpet, typically made from a ram's horn. It is blown on Rosh Hashana before and during the Mussaf service. The powerful sound of the Shofar is not only meant to awaken us to do Teshuvah, but also serves as an acknowledgement to Hashem's kingship.
